Kogarah Bay consists of mainly two storey brick inter-war, post-war homes with modern redeveloped homes more recently. Kogarah Bay is structured so that the majority of the housing surrounds the bay and therefore many properties have bay views.
It is bounded by Princes Hwy to the north with the east boundary bordered by Harold Fraser Oval. To the south are the shores of Kogarah Bay with Carlton Crescent homes occupying most of the waterfront and to the west surrounded by Lacey Street.
Major Features of the area include a sailing club and radio yacht club. It is also home to Claydon Reserve which is surrounding by Kogarah Bay and Sans Souci is home to the Sans Souci Football Club. A small group of shops is located on the intersection of Park Road and the Princes Highway including a bakery, butcher, newsagent, convenient store and hairdresser.
Schools, Education and Institutions within the area are Baldface Public School, Connells Point Public school, Mater Dei School, Blakehurst Public School, Blakehurst High School and tertiary St George TAFE also in the area.
Transport within the area includes; Carlton Train station and Allawah Train Station are both close by with a bus service
